Howard LedererThe Aussie Millions $100,000 no limit hold’em tournament was won by The Professor, Howard Lederer on Saturday evening.

Twenty five players turned up to play in the tournament - an improvement on the turnout from 12 months ago. Players such as Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson and Mark Teltscher turned up in force to compete for the AUD $1.25 million first prize, but it was Lederer who walked away with the winner’s cheque.

He overcame last year’s champion Erick Lingren who had actually gone into the final table as the chip leader but ultimately went out on the bubble in a disappointing sixth place.

Teltscher finished in second place (AUD $650,000), with Michael Sampoerna and Jeffrey Lisandro finishing in third and fourth spot respectively. Nikolaus Jedlicka took the final cash spot by finishing in fifth position.

The fun isn’t over yet though with the AUD $5,000 Heads-Up championship due to start on Thursday morning.
