Despite only being launched in late 2008, Aced has been attracting a large number of players due to it’s unique approach to online poker. As part of the Merge network, it has a nice number of in-game features and a fantastic loyalty program that’s a breath of fresh air to the regular player.

Available games:
A wide variety of games are available on Aced: Texas hold’em, Omaha, Five Card Stud, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo (also 7 Card Stud High Low, H/L/8), Caribbean Stud, 5 Card Draw, Razz, Lowball, Badugi, Deuce to 7 and a variety of casino games such as Black Jack, Roulette, Video Poker, Backgammon, Euchre.
Bonuses:
The Aced poker bonus sees new players earn 200% of their first deposit (up to a maximum of $500), meaning that if you deposit $500, then Aced will give you another $1,000 totally free to play with.
What’s more is that this is very much a user friendly poker bonus as it will be paid out in $50 increments meaning that you don’t have to spend all of your initial deposit before your bonus comes through.
New players will also be eligible for a number of “New Member” freerolls throughout the first 14 days of their membership.
Tournaments
Being part of the Merge Network, players at Aced can rely on a full tournament schedule with plenty of free rolls (they run every four hours). On top of the 14 days of freerolls you’ll receive when you first sign up, regular players can expect to win seats to the larger freerolls based on the FPP points that they earn (see below). Aced currently hosts a daily $1,000 freeroll, a weekly $5,000 freeroll and a monthly $50,000 freeroll with all prizes being paid in cash and not the bonus dollars that you can expect to receive from some sites.
For players looking to buy their way into tournaments, Aced hosts a weekly $20,000 guaranteed and multiple daily games with a tournament leaderboard to keep track of all of the action.
As you would expect from any major poker site there are also plenty of opportunities to win seats to live events via a number of satellites with the competition being noticeably softer than you would find in the larger rooms. Definitely good news for those looking to increase their chances of flying out to places like Melbourne for the Aussie Millions.
Players
The Merge network has always traditionally struggled for player numbers when compared to some of the other larger networks around. However, the re-design of their software (which must now be one of the most under-rated poker clients available) coupled with the launch of Carbon Poker and now Aced means that this issue is now being firmly dealt with.
Players looking for a game at unsociable hours may have to wait a little bit before being able to throw some cards around, but with Aced proving to be such a hit with online players this is nowhere near the problem it used to be and will soon be a thing of the past.
Further good news is that the competition you’ll come across isn’t anything to fear at all mainly due to players initially being attracted to Merge’s freeroll offerings. Those of you willing to play sensible ABC poker will find your bankrolls increasing in no time at all.
Rewards
The Aced Poker loyalty program is the jewel in the crown. It’s totally unique and one of the coolest reward programs out there. Known as “Outs,” it rewards players for completing various tasks while they play. These tasks range from winning two hands in a row (earning you 5 points) to playing your millionth hand (a massive 5,000 points). New ‘Outs’ are being added all the time, with players encouraged to submit their own ideas and then being rewarded accordingly if their ideas are put live.
Here are a few examples of the ‘Out’s that are in place at the time of writing:

Conclusion:
Aced is a really impressive site. Despite it being so new to the poker scene, it’s made a really unique impression on the industry and deserves to do extremely well. The fact that it’s part of the Merge network means that the software is very user friendly and offers some neat features (such as the Rabbit Hunt) that won’t be found elsewhere. The downside of the Merge network is that players may struggle to find a table to play at if they’re looking to play at an awkward hour of the night, but with the arrival of Carbon Poker and now Aced to the network, that is definitely changing.
Final words need to be saved for the ‘Outs’ loyalty program though which is a real breath of fresh air and sees players rewarded for strong play and not just for spending more money.
